Mother's Day Gift Set using Tickled Pink from CTMHCategory: My Crafty Projects | Permalink Published: Saturday, May 09, 2009
We'll....I've been super busy crafting all day. I wanted to get my Mother's Day goodies completed. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.... I have 1 day to spare. :) I actually made the card a few nights ago but added to it with the wall art and origami box. SUPER CUTE! Everything thing was made from the Tickled Pink set from Close To My Heart. I'm loving this set can you tell?!? I thought it was very Mother's Day-ish. The origami box was so fun to make. If you're interested in learning how to fold the box, click here for the pdf. This folding tutorial was provided on SplitCoastStampers.com by Lynn in St. Louis. Thank you Lynn! It's actually very easy to do all the folding and then I added the cover by cutting 5 1/4" x 12" cardstock and patterned paper. I trimmed the patterned paper slightly smaller so the cardstock would show up and I inked the edges. I scored the cardstock at 4 7/8" and at 7 1/8", then stamped and layered a BUNCH of tickled pink flowers. Each flower is layered with foam adhesive squares to make them pop. I added the ribbon to the inside flap under a piece of cardstock that says "so happy", edges are inked and stamped in hollyhock and then tucked ribbon under the box as well. The box is attached to the bottom cardstock and back side with glue dots to give it some good grip. The wall art... which I thought turned out so CUTE was started with (3) 4.5" scalloped squares cut out with the celebrations cartridge on my cricut machine. I used the celebrations cartridge to also cut out the (3) square of tickled pink paper and the word "Mom" using the beyond birthdays cartridge. Next was stamping, stamping and more stamping. I used the Sweet Love stamp set for the first scalloped square and then tickled pink for all the adorable flowers and the sentiment. The scalloped squares were all inked using a dauber as well as the white cardstock on each square around "Mom", the sentiment, and the 3 little stamps. The card was made for Mojo Monday Card Making Challenge. To see my recent post regarding that card, click here! So... what do you think? Here are some more pics for you to see.... I had to rotate the pics of the wall art and when I did it made them an awkward shape... they really are square though. :)
