{Video Tutorial} Rosette Christmas Trees using CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge

Have you seen the cover of the new Close To My Heart Holiday Gift Guide?! If so, I'm sure you were drooling over those gorgeous Christmas Trees. I've had a ton of inquires as to how to make those beauties so I decide to make one and create a video tutorial to share. Close To My Heart used the Cricut Craft Room software to make theirs and since I don't use that ... just my amazing Cricut Expression, I figured out how to make it without needing the CCR program. Check it out...

I hope you'll find this video tutorial helpful.
PS. my little cutie (Londyn, age 1) makes a few appearances

So just a little recap from my video... You'll want to use the Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste Cartridge to create your Rosettes.

There are a few rosettes to choose from on the Artiste Cricut Cartridge, the one I used is on page 55 of the handbook (shown here)....

I cut all the rosettes at 2" (with the exception of the bottom one, 2 1/4"). Each rosettes requires 2 pieces cut from the Cricut to create the full circle. When I got to the smaller ones (top 3 rows) I used 1 1/2" pieces and the top one I just used 1 piece.

If you don't use the Cricut Craft Room program on the computer or a Gypsy then you'll want to get out your paper trimmer and start cutting down each layer. This is what you'll want to do to create the same thickness on each later rather than cutting them smaller sizes on your Cricut Machine. The big one on the bottom stayed at 2 1/4", the second to the bottom stayed at 2" and then all the others got trimmed just a hair until I got to 3/4" for the top piece. There were 20 strips cut on the Cricut.... 2 at 2 1/4" and 18 at 2".

I used my hot glue gun to adhere the ends together, to attach to the circles and to attach all the finished rosettes together. To decorate it I cut snowflakes from the Artiste Cartridge using White Daisy Cardstock and jazzed them all up with some CTMH Glitz. Once those dried I added a dab of hot glue and adhered them to the tree. For the tree topper I made a big bow using the CTMH Ruby Chevron Ribbon, cut more snowflakes with the Artiste and added a red embellishment from the Base & Bling Red Jewels Assortment. To get it to stick in the tree, I used Foundry Pin Clips (which happen to be on clearance for $1.10 a pack on my site right now, here). I hot glued all the pieces together and to the Pin Clip and poked it right down into the top of the tree. :)

So what do you think? How does it look?
