Londyn's Black & White Damask NurseryCategory: My Crafty Projects | Permalink Published: Wednesday, June 06, 2012 I wanted to share with you all my daughter, Londyn's baby nursery. I'm sure I'll add a few decor things here and there but for the most part it is completed. =) Since I love black & white damask, of course I had to go for a black and white nursery. It took a little convincing of my hubby since he's a little over my damask obsession and thought that it would only stay in my craft room. Hee hee! But... he knows how much I LOVE it and agreed it would look good with the wood floors and green/white walls. Wahoo! I guess it was good news for him since he didn't have to do any additional painting. Here are some pics to give you a closer look.... I hope you like it!
As you can see we went with all black/dark espresso furniture to tie the room all together. I found the bedding online (it's made by Tadpoles) and thought it was perfect since it has damask print with polka dots and stripes too. The curtains were purchased from the same company and are the exact damask print. Even One of my favorite parts of the room is the paper butterfly and netting mobile that I made for above the crib. You can check it out HERE! That was such a fun project to work on and really added so much to the room. Next to the crib you'll see her armoire where lots of her clothes are kept. The doors open to 2 large shelves and a drawer and then below the doors there is an additional drawer. Of course since she has SO many clothes already, (and not even here yet) she is also filling up half of the closet in Maverick's room. In between the armoire and the crib is a black wicker hamper that is lined in black and white damask. Above the hamper on the wall (not shown) is a little black and white damask wall hanging thing with 3 hooks to hold tons and tons of her headbands. =) Sitting on the dresser is a square utility tote from 31 bags which holds her newborn diapers, a box of wipes, etc to make diaper changing easy. And then you'll see a frame I scored at Hobby Lobby which happened to be 66% off and couldn't have matched the room any better so I bought 2 of them. In the corner you will see a latter bookshelf. I needed a place to put some decor items and we already had this in a hallway downstairs so I took it and it was a perfect fit for this corner. I added that fun girlie dress form jewelry hanger. As she gets a little older I'm sure she will have lots of jewelry to hang from there. That was purchased from Home Goods. Next to that is another one of those frames that I found at Hobby Lobby for cheap. And the last part of her room to show you is the loveseat where I'm sure I'll be sitting at often while up late at night with my sweet little Londyn. We already had the loveseat and since I sat their often with my son too I figured we should just use this and not get another glider set. I really never used the one that is in Maverick's room so no reason to spend the money on one when we already had this. I really wanted to reupholster his glider with damask fabric and paid the oak black to match but I kinda thought that was too big of a task for me to take on and my luck I'd ruin it. So I just added some black and white pillows which I found at Hobby Lobby on sale for about $12 a pillow and the loveseat was complete. =) I hope you enjoyed the little tour of Londyn's nursery. I am so excited for her to arrive in August and hope she LOVES her room we have put together for her.
