Hot Cocoa Cones with CTMH 'A Sip' TagsCategory: My Crafty Projects | Permalink Published: Wednesday, December 14, 2011 I wanted to get creative in the kitchen today making some Christmas goodies so I decided these Hot Cocoa Cones would be such a fun little goodie to add to gift baskets, give to neighbors, friends, family and Brooklyn's teacher.
I made 16 of these yummy cones and wanted a way for everyone to know what exactly they were so I ran to my craft room and used my Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut out the tags using the "Auto Fill" button so I could create a bunch of 2 3/4" tags at once. Then I grabbed my Close To My Heart 'A Sip' Stamp Set and stamped the little cup, then used a scrap paper and covered (masked) the cup so I could stamp the steam, then used "Time for Cocoa" to add at the bottom and inked up all the edges. Perfect!!! Now you can easily tell what the yumminess is inside. To make these I used cone cellophane bags that I bought at Hobby Lobby in the party supply section. I then bought some Hot Cocoa Powder Mix... the brand is Hytop from WinCo. I was able to get it in a large container so I thought it would be perfect since my family already loves this kind. You simply fill the cone up with the hot cocoa powder (I didn't measure... just eye balled it) and secure the top with either twisty ties (tie tie as my family calls them) or little clear rubber bands. Then cut the top of the bag off leaving a little less than an inch. Now place the cone with Hot Cocoa inside an empty cone bag and add some chocolate chips. I used mint chocolate chips to add some color and additional flavor. Yummm! Once you have your chocolate chips in just top it off with some marshmallows and then secure the top with another twisty tie. You can also make your own Hot Cocoa mix by combining Instant Dry Milk, Sugar & Cocoa Powder but this is a much easier way and just as delicious. You can google Hot Cocoa Recipes and find a ton. I had it on my list to get all the ingredients to make it but when I saw the big containers of the already made mix I thought... SCORE!!! =) Now to make it extra adorable you'll want to tie on your tag with some ribbon, trim the edges and viola!!!! GUESS WHAT?!? Did you know I'm doing another GIVEAWAY for the Art Philosophy Cricut Collection? I am!!! Eeekkk I get so excited about my giveaways!!!
