Holiday Wishes Cards using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut CartridgeCategory: My Crafty Projects | Permalink Published: Sunday, November 06, 2011 Christmas is only 48 days away... have you started making your Christmas Cards? I was a busy bee working on some this weekend. Here are 3 of them that I made using the November Promo Stamp Set, Holiday Wishes from Close To My Heart! It is a MUST HAVE for Christmas cards! See below to find out how to get it. Do you notice the "window" on the front of the card? Fun, huh? I wanted to do something different and with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge there are so many neat things you can do now. I started with a precut and scored 6 1/2" x 5" card base. It was actually a pack from Michael's Craft Store I think the brand is Recollections. You can also use a piece of cardstock cut at 10" x 6 1/2" and score it in half. So now you're wondering how I got the window with the cut and scored cards, right? Well I used the "Center Point' Feature on my Cricut Expression. I laid the card vertically on the cricut mat (6 1/2" across the top and 10" down) and moved the blade to 3 1/4" x 2 1/2" and pushed "Center Point". I then set the shape to size 5" and pushed cut. Easy peasy! Now you'll have your card base with the window.
TIP: I put the Liquid Glass on the outside of the window on the card... not on the believe paper that way you don't get glue all over. (Note it doesn't line up perfect with the white card base.. you can see a small amount of the backside of the paper when you open the card). Next I stamped "Tis the Season to Sparkle" from Holiday Wishes and added some CTMH Sparkles (rhinestones) to the Holiday Red cardstock. It was very fitting to go with the sentiment. =)
I cut the tree on CTMH Sweet Leaf paper at 4" as indicated on the Holiday Wishes Stamp Set carrier sheet. Then stamped it in Topiary ink and added some CTMH Stardust Glitz to the tree. Lastly I added the sentiment "Merry Christmas" to the top and VIOLA!
