Paper Crafted Box | Brief Tutorial | Take a looksy!Category: My Crafty Projects | Permalink Published: Friday, January 23, 2009 I finished up my paper crafted box tonight. I started the box template a few nights ago but still needed to cover and do all the finishing touches tonight. This all started with an empty oatmeal box in the pantry! My creative mind was wondering what I could do with it. So here it is..... Brief Tutorial on how to create this box: The oatmeal box was taken apart, I then layed out the paper, traced it, cut it all out, glued and assembled the box back together with the fun paper. I had actually received a gift with this paper as the wrapping about a year ago. My sister in law, Ashley uses awesome stuff . . . its like a thick cloth paper (not sure what it's called). I knew I could reuse it on something and tonight was the perfect night. Plus it worked out great since it was a large piece of thick wrapping paper so I didn't have to piece together any 12 x 12's. Next I took the top flaps and pushed them to the inside (see in pic below), this adds color to the inside and smooth edges as well. I glued them down and added 1 eyelet on each side to give it some extra hold. I then added a red-ish brad into all 4 eyelets to add some color and support to the sides. On the front panel I started with 4 different colors of flowers (red, cream, a tan sheer and brown) I secured that to the front eyelet (largest to smalled) with the red brad... which gave it a nice pop! The brown polka dot ribbon was added all around the box. The chipboard letters (chip chatter, hip) were distressed. I used distress ink in vintage photo with a sponge dauber and brushed around the letters. I added a thin brown sting to make a bow to the "c" and a tee tiny red paper clip to the "e". I then placed the letters on the front panel and walaaa! Hope you like it!
