Halloween Pumpkin Teacher Gift using Art Philosophy Cricut CartridgeCategory: My Crafty Projects | Permalink Published: Monday, October 10, 2011 I wanted to make a fun Halloween craft for Brooklyn to give to her teacher (2nd grade), so I came up with this pumpkin using the alphabet borders from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I thought the alphabet border was perfect to use for a teacher goodie, don't you agree? There is also a numbers border that would be cute for a math teacher. To make this I cut 3 alphabet borders using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge at "Fit to Length" in size 11". I cut a 1 1/2" circle for the base and made a circle with 1 of the borders and attached the ends to the circle using Liquid Glass. Then did the same thing with the 2nd circle but put it over the 1st border and again with the 3rd. Sorry if that sounds confusing... I'm not sure how else to showing you in a video. Once I had attached the borders to the bottom circle I then cut out a 1 1/4" circle and squeezed it inside the pumpkin and placed it on top of the borders to secure the borders. For the top of the pumpkin I used some Kraft cardstock, cut a little strip of it and curled it around my piercing tool. After sliding it off the piercing tool I secured it with some liquid glass so it wouldn't unwind. For the leaves I used the exclusive stamp set that comes with the Art Philosophy Cricut Collection and cut the leaf at 2" (as indicated on the carrying sheet). I did a little bit of the rock-n-roll technique where I stamped it once on a scratch piece of paper then again in the ink just along the edges by "rolling" it. I love how I no longer need to do any intricate cutting and that the stamp matches up perfectly with the image cut using the cartridge. =) I put the 3 stems together and adhered them with a glue dot. The last step was attaching the stem and to do that I just used some liquid glass on the edge and held it up to the pumpkin. For the little gift bag I cut it at 4" using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, wrapped it in black boa and stamped it with a retired October Month stamp. The plaque shape and oval were also cut using the AP cartridge too. I actually used Colonial White cardstock for both and just used a sponge on the plaque to ink up using cocoa ink. =) It was the perfect sized bag to fill with some yummy candy. Hope you like my little Halloween Teacher Goodie.
