Holiday Star Wreath using CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge & Believe Paper Pack

I've decided that I'm going to get ahead on my holiday crafting... why wait until I'm too busy to get things done? So tonight I created some Holiday Home Decor. =) I made this fun Star Wreath with Pennant Banner using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and the new Believe Level 2 Paper Pack.

Pretty neat, huh? Would you guess that underneath all these stars you'd find a thin Dimensional Element On Target circle ring? That is what I used. I had originally started with a Styrofoam ring and covered it in red fabric so you couldn't see the foam although the ring itself was too thick. I was looking for something that was sturdy yet thin in width. So I thought... "I got it!... the CTMH Dimensional Element On Target chipboard pack from CTMH would probably work." =) And tada... it did!

Underneath everything there is a ring of green stars (unfolded) that line the ring so that no white showed through.

I then cut all the stars out using the fabulous, MUST HAVE Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge from Close To My Heart. I cut them in sizes 1 1/2" to 4 1/2". Each one of the stars seen was scored down the center from each point. {Video Tutorial Below} I used my handy dandy score pad from Martha Stewart to quickly get through them all. I then folded them on the lines to give the star more dimension. Make sure you place your paper in the direction you want it .... face down on the score pad ends up being the side that will be face up on your project.

I started with the large stars and spread them out evenly around the ring, then moved on to the medium sized stars and layered them close to the large stars. I then took all the baby stars and filled in all the empty areas and layered them in areas that needed it. I used my hot glue gun since I was just putting the glue on the areas that would be sticking other stars and this seemed to work best.

Then I cut the pennant banners using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I cut them all from CTMH White Daisy Cardstock at 1 1/2". I then cut the letters out to say Happy Holidays using the cartridge as well. I've mentioned it MANY times but this cartridge has it all! =) I used CTMH Holiday Red Cardstock for the letters. The only part of this project that is not Close To My Heart is the green and white twine which I tied between each pennant banner and at the ends. All the Pennant Banners were attached to the twine using some CTMH Liquid Glass. You can get a good look at it on in the picture of the back of the wreath.  

The inspiration for this project started while searching the internet for something a bit different than the norm. I browsed around at some fun pennant banners, gorgeous floral wreaths, etc.... and then stumbled upon a super classy Star Wreath. Although mine turned out super different than Little Birdie Secrets I wanted to share where the inspiration came from. =)
